Dipropofotin is the analogue of diacetophentine, which was once approved by local standards, but has not been approved by the national drug regulatory department as a drug or raw material for production or import; Its analogue, bispofostine, has never been approved by the State drug regulatory department for production or import as a drug or raw material; Although phenolphthalein, a similar to diacetophenol, was once approved by the State, due to its serious adverse reactions, the State Food and Drug Administration issued the Announcement on the cancellation of the Registration Certificate of Phenolphthalein Tablets and Phenolphthalein lozenges in 2021 (No. 6 of 2021).
Regulatory requirement
According to the Food Safety Law, food may not be added with drugs, and such raw materials have never been approved as food additives or new food raw materials, as well as health food raw materials, therefore, the detection of phenoltine (phenolbutyl), phenolphthalein and its ester derivatives or analogitics (such as 4-chloro-diacetophenol butyl) in food are illegal additions.
Due to the same/similar core pharmacophore and clinical efficacy of phenolphthalein, phenolphthalein and its ester derivatives or similar, with similar properties and hazards, food added with the above substances has the risk of toxic side effects on the human body, affecting human health, and even endangering life.
