To help companies manage the risk of PFAS in food and the environment, We have developed PFAS detection methods for a variety of substrates, and now offer testing services for perfluoroalkyl compounds (PFAS).
Definition of perfluorinated compounds (PFAS)
Perfluorinated and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a class of man-made chemicals in which hydrogen atoms connected to carbon atoms are partially or completely replaced by fluorine atoms, consisting of thousands of substances.
Domestic and foreign regulations and supervision of PFAS
On August 24, 2022, the European Commission issued the "Recommendation on the Monitoring of perfluoroalkyl Substances in Food" (EU) 2022/1431, which sets the minimum quantification limits for PFOS, PFOA, PFNA and PFHxS in analytical methods. The four substances in fruits, vegetables, starchy roots, milk and baby food are subject to further investigation if they exceed the limits stipulated in (EU) 2022/1431.
On December 7, 2022, the European Commission issued the "Maximum Content of perfluoroalkyl Substances in Certain Foods" (EU) 2022/2388, which stipulated the limits of PFOS, PFOA, PFNA, PFHxS and the sum of four types of substances in eggs, aquatic products, meat and offal, game animal meat and offal;
In May 2022, The State Council issued the Action Plan for the Treatment of New Pollutants, requiring local governments to issue a list of new pollutants under key control, complete a detailed investigation of chemical substances for priority assessment of environmental risks, and establish an environmental investigation and monitoring system for new pollutants.
In the latest edition of the "GB 5749-2022 Sanitary Standard for Drinking Water", Appendix A has the control requirements for perfluorinated compounds in water quality, which are perfluorooctane acid (limit value 0.00008mg/L) and perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (limit value 0.00004mg/L).
Our services cover:
Specific perfluorinated Compounds (PFAS) testing: Testing services for common PFAS substances such as PFOA (perfluorooctane acid) and PFOS (Perfluorooctane sulfonic acid) to ensure product compliance with the latest safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Material risk assessment: Through a professional assessment process, we help companies identify and analyze possible risk factors in their materials, so as to take appropriate preventive and control measures.
Management and Control Training and Consulting services: We provide customized training and consulting services for enterprises and their suppliers to strengthen internal quality control systems and improve supply chain management capabilities.
