Low GI foods contain available carbohydrates and have a glycemic index (GI) of 55 or below.
(Note: GI < 55 is low GI; 55–70 is medium GI; GI > 70 is high GI. Only products certified as "Low GI Foods" can use the Low GI Food Certification mark on packaging, labels, advertisements, and promotional materials.)
