Good News|China’s First Private GMP+ Registered Laboratory: TI Group Receives “Satisfactory” Rating in Fapas Proficiency Test
Release Time:2026/07/03

TI Group’s Consumer & Health division (Jiangsu facility) recently participated in the Fapas (Food Analysis Performance Assessment Scheme) proficiency testing program – specifically the “T07619 – Heavy Metals in Plant‑Derived Animal Feed” project. All reported parameters received a “Satisfactory” rating.

In proficiency testing, the absolute value of the Z‑score indicates how close a result is to the internationally accepted true value. A |Z| ≤ 2 is considered satisfactory. In this round, all of our Z‑scores fell between 0.2 and 0.8, demonstrating the technical competence and data reliability of TI Group’s heavy metal analysis capabilities.

About Fapas:

Organised by Fera (the UK’s Food and Environment Research Agency) and launched in 1990, Fapas has become one of the world’s most widely recognised proficiency testing schemes for food and feed testing.

Its authority rests on three pillars:

  • Global mutual recognition – connecting thousands of laboratories across over 100 countries, with results widely accepted by international recognition systems;

  • Domestic equivalence – mutually recognised with CNAS (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment), serving as key technical evidence for Chinese laboratories applying for or maintaining CNAS accreditation;

  • Rigorous scoring – using a statistical Z‑score system where |Z| ≤ 2 is satisfactory, and values closer to 0 indicate higher accuracy.

For any laboratory, achieving a satisfactory Fapas rating is objective proof that its testing capabilities meet international standards.

GMP+ Registered Laboratory:

This strong performance in proficiency testing is built on a mature quality management system.

In January 2025, TI Group’s Consumer & Health division (Jiangsu facility) became the first private third‑party testing laboratory in China to obtain GMP+ registered laboratory status. GMP+ – established by the Dutch Feed Industry Association – is an internationally recognised feed safety certification system covering the entire supply chain from raw materials to finished products. It is widely adopted in major Western markets.

Under the latest GMP+ requirements, testing for critical risk indicators such as heavy metals and fluorine, dioxins and dioxin‑like PCBs, aflatoxin B1, and pesticide residues must be performed by a GMP+ registered laboratory for the results to be directly accepted by the GMP+ certification system.

This means:

  • TI Group’s management system, testing capabilities, and quality control have passed the specialised audit conducted by the GMP+ international organisation;

  • Our test reports carry international validity and can be directly used for the release of raw materials and finished goods by GMP+‑certified companies.

For feed and pet food manufacturers, the value of a test report lies not just in the document itself, but in the traceable, verifiable technical competence behind it. Whether for domestic compliance or export access, for raw material screening or final product release, every data point provided by TI Group is backed by international comparison and system audits. We remain committed to supporting Chinese companies in their global journey with accurate and reliable testing services.
